Progressive Gay Men

Meetup for liberal, progressive gay men who share common values and interests on topics that are left-of-center: environmental concerns, racial justice, feminism, gay rights and more. We'll meet in bars, homes, or parks to socialize, discuss current events and share thoughts and ideas, all over a few beers or fair trade coffee, a hike, bike ride, or all of the above all at once. This group is for gay or bi men who just want to meet other like-minded men; you should consider yourself thoughtful and concerned about the world around you, yet also have a sense of humor- laughter is as important as debate. You may be a Democrat or a Green, you may shop at the Park Slope Food Co-Op or Whole Foods, you may be an atheist or buddhist, you may watch Six Feet Under or think TV is the anti-christ, you may listen to Nina Simone or the Nine Inch Nails. In other words, if you are a Republican, SUV-driving, Armani-wearing born-again Christian Fundamentalist anti-choice Bush-supporter, this group probably isn't for you. But if you are all of those things & you still want to come- what the hell, sign up and we'll see what happens! Peace.

Meet in front of 529 West 20th Street at 3:00 (most galleries close on Sat at 5:30-6:00) and begin our gallery hopping there as there are a number of galleries in that building. We would break into smaller groups and work our way uptown (galleries are located all the way up to 28th St). Read more
