PLEASE NOTE: Look for the dog's wearing the rainbow bone or paw print bandana's..that would be our group!

Fresh water- The beach does NOT provide any type of fresh water for your pooch, if your pooch drinks the ocean water, he/she will vomit & have diarrhea for a couple of days (depending on how much they drink). I'm sure you don't want that to happen. I will bring about 2 gallons of fresh water and water bowls, but, if you can, please try to bring additional water.

Poop bags - The beach does NOT provide poop bags for your pooch.

Towels - Towels to leave in your car. Your pooch will be sandy, so, it'll be smart to bring a towel to clean him/her off before they get in your vehicle. (Remember, there are no water hoses to rinse the sand off of your pooch).

The only thing that I'm a bit worried about is if people will
be able (and know) where to find the steps down to the beach.
It's not an obvious spot if this is your first time there.
First they have to make sure to park at the right parking lot
(it's about 1/4 mile south from the lights at the intersection
of John Muir drive/highway 1).

Facing the ocean, the launchpad of the hang gliders is to the
left of the overlook and the path/steps all the way down to the
beach is to left of that launchpad. Depending on the wind,
there might not be any hang gliders and there is no clear mark
for the path to the beach. Most locals go to the right of the
parking lot (that's what I usually do) and so people might be
getting confused and go in the direction that most people go.

So, be sure to walk to the left of the parking lot down the steps to the beach.

Sure, it might be a long trek for some of us, but, it's well worth it. Your pooch will love you even more for taking them there. This is a beautiful beach with spectacular views of the ocean and the city.
At the cliff, close to the parking lot, we should see hang gliders riding the ocean winds. Isn't that cool?
